On Call Wait Staff

Job Description

We are looking for skilled On Call Wait Staff to take orders, deliver food and beverages to our guests, set up before events and clean after events. The goal is to provide an excellent overall guest experience during events.

The ideal candidate needs to possess good listening skills, be reliable and adaptable with a high energy level and good planning and organizing skills. A team player that gets along well with others. Honesty and Integrity a must.

 

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer services that promote satisfaction
Greet customers and guide guests to event locations
Take and serve food/drinks orders
Arrange table settings and maintain tables clean and tidy
Check products for quality and correct any problems that keep them from enjoying their meal/drink
Cooperate with all serving and kitchen staff
Follow all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines

 

Requirements

Proven waiting experience
Ability to develop constructive working and interpersonal relationships with customers
Problem solving and decision making skills
Service orientation and excellent organizational skills
Active listening and effective communication competencies
Good physical condition
High school diploma; food safety training will be considered an asset
Availability any day of the week or weekend, midday to late night
Need to have black pants, white dress shirt, black shoes and black tie

On Call Housekeeping

Job Description

We are looking for skilled On Call Housekeeping to assist in cleaning the mansion after large events and busier times for the bed and breakfast. The goal is to maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for our guests with great attention to detail.

The ideal candidate needs to possess good listening skills, be reliable and adaptable with a high energy level and good planning and organizing skills. A team player that gets along well with others. Honesty and Integrity a must.

 

Responsibilities

Sweep and mop floors
Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies
Dust and polish furniture and fittings
Clean metal fixtures and fittings
Empty and clean trash containers and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
Wipe down glass surfaces
Make up beds and change linens as required
Tidy up rooms
Wash windows as scheduled
Operate mechanized cleaning equipment
Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
Polish silverware
Distribute linen, towels and room supplies
Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
Replace dirty linens with clean items
Store all dirty laundry in line with company policy
Check all appliances in rooms are in working order
Remove room service items
Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
Follow all company safety and security procedures
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
Observe and report damage of bed and breakfast property

 

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs)
Availability any day of the week or weekend

On Call Grounds Keeper

Job Description

Landscape or maintain grounds of Belle Grove Plantation using hand or power tools or equipment. Grounds Keeper typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, and raking. On Call Grounds Keeper will work under our Master Gardener Volunteer and will take instructions from her.

The ideal candidate needs to possess good listening skills, be reliable and adaptable with a high energy level and good planning and organizing skills. A team player that gets along well with others. Honesty and Integrity a must.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers.
Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Gather and remove litter.
Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features.
Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.
Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage.
Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
Haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.

Volunteer Positions
Garden and Grounds Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help us maintain and improve Belle Grove Plantation’s landscape. Volunteers are needed to plant, weed, prune, rake and cut grass and hedges to help us make Belle Grove Plantation’s grounds and future gardens more beautiful. No experience is necessary. Hours are set by your availability.

Docent Volunteers

Become an ambassador for Belle Grove Plantation as a Volunteer Docent. As a Volunteer Docent, you will bring Belle Grove Plantation’s heritage and history to life for our tour guests. You will become knowledgeable in Belle Grove Plantation’s architecture, family history, furnishings and preservation efforts. Volunteer Docents will need to have the ability to memorize historic information and have the ability to answer questions posed by tour guests. Hours for Volunteer Docents will be from 12:00pm to 3:00pm daily. Schedules are set one month in advance and we ask for your commitment to this schedule. Days are set by your availability. No experience is necessary.

Mansion Volunteers

Mansion Volunteers are needed as Office and Maintenance Volunteers. Office Volunteers will help us with marketing, social media, scheduling appointments, following up on leads and reaching out to other leads. Maintenance Volunteers will help us with cleaning and maintaining our historic 1791 mansion. No experience is necessary. Hours are set by your availability.

Special Event Volunteers

Belle Grove Plantation conducts many public events to allow others to come and enjoy our historic plantation and mansion. During these events, we will need Special Event Volunteers to assist us with traffic and crowd guidance, check in for the event, and general help. Help us make Belle Grove Plantation a great place to come and enjoy!
