crazy

What a crazy week this has been! I bet you all have been wondering “Where in the world are they?” Well, it started with me having to leave for three days to Washington DC for training with my current job. There was no access to a computer and even my cell phone had a limited signal. Once I arrived home, I was running around just trying to catch up with things at my current job. Then before I knew it, the weekend was on us. I had made plans to meet a young girl who is the daughter of one of our friends and spend some time with her on Saturday. She enjoys history too, so it was a “win-win” situation for us. We toured some awesome locations on Saturday and had a lot of funny talking. Then Sunday rolled around and my “chores” at home beckoning me. So I gave in and went grocery shopping and did laundry. For some reason my family likes to eat and have clean clothes… who knew?

Then Monday arrived. I thought, “Yes! I can finally catch up on my blog.” Instead, I spent the day with our daughter, who we rarely see now that college is back in and she is working. Then Tuesday and Wednesday rolled around. Back to working my current job and running to get things done for our first public hearing with the county. Thank goodness I have Brett! He kept things moving this past week and half as I just bounced from one thing to the next. I almost feel like I need to just sit in a corner and reorganize my time for the rest of the week!

This week also held a milestone for Brett and I. Tuesday we celebrated our son, Tyler’s birthday with him. He is our youngest. He also turned 21 year old! Time just seems to speed by these days! And if that wasn’t enough of a shock, we will be celebrating our daughter’s birthday a week from Friday! Alexa will be 24 years old. I just have to keep saying it over and over to myself. It just doesn’t seem possible. I swear I was just holding them in my arms the other day! Haha, I have to laugh because Hurley just walked over and “nosed” his head up under my arm as I as typing. It was as if he knew what I was typing and wanted me to know that he was still here. Good Hurley!

Brett headed out of town today to Texas for a business meeting for his current job. Tonight, Tyler is off at a youth class that he heads up at his girlfriend’s church. Alexa is working a double. So I am off to grab a bite to eat, most likely sushi. I generally go when Brett is out of town because he isn’t really big into sushi. I adore it! And in a way, it’s my comfort food.

Once I am done, I will return to write a post or two tonight and catch up on reading the blogs that I follow. There is one thing that I have learned this week too. I miss my blog and visiting with our blog “friends”. I am glad things are settling back down now so I can tell you where we have been and what we have been doing. I can’t wait to see what you all have been up to and what exciting pictures I have missed!
