Afternoon Tea at Historic Belle Grove Plantation

Come enjoy the taste of the finer things surrounded by over 200 years of American History. The timeless ritual of Afternoon Tea served at Belle Grove Plantation offers antique china, elegant surroundings and delicious selections of scones, tea sandwiches and a sumptuous display of sweets.

Enjoy our loose-leaf tea selections including the traditional Earl Grey, Chamomile and Jasmine, as well as other varieties.
Treat someone special, a group of dear friends or just enjoy a quiet setting for one to this enduring tradition in our elegant Dolley’s Tea Room.

Reservations, Payments and Cancellations for Dolley’s Afternoon Tea Room

Reservations within 48 hours of our Afternoon Tea Room dates are required. We schedule your afternoon tea from 1pm to 3pm. Please contact us by email at information@bellegroveplantation.com or call us directly at 540-621-7340 to make your reservations. We do require a credit card to hold your reservation. We are sorry, but we are not able to accommodate groups larger than 9. Groups of 10 or more are asked to make Private Afternoon Tea plans.

Cost for Dolley’s Afternoon Tea Room is $35, not including sales tax or gratuity.

This includes two flavors of scones, three types of tea sandwiches and three types of petite sweets. A choice of tea is given at the time of your arrival.

Payment for afternoon tea is accepted after your tea by credit card or cash. We are sorry, but we do not accept personal checks.

You may cancel your reservation up to 4 days before the date of the tea. If you cancel 3 or less days or do not show for your reservation, you will be charged a $25 cancellation fee per person.

Special Notes for Dolley’s Afternoon Tea Room

While we enjoy sharing our home with you, we are not able to accommodate children under 5 years of age at our teas.
Dress for our afternoon tea is up to you. We allow casual to dressing for the theme that month. Tea Hats are very popular and we enjoy sharing them through our social media.

Mansion Tours may or may not be available depending on the availability of our docents. Mansion Tours are $10 per person if added to your afternoon tea.

Belle Grove Plantation is a historic site and at this time does not offer handicap access to the mansion. We hope to have this challenge overcome soon.

Since the opening of Belle Grove Plantation’s elegant mansion, Special Public Afternoon Tea has become an annual tradition. It is a time to gather together and remember the past or those we love.

You may cancel your reservation up to 8 days before the date of the afternoon tea event. If you cancel 7 or less days or do not show for your reservation, your payment becomes non-refundable.

Please note – these tickets sell out very quickly. Don’t wait to purchase your tickets. Once they sell out, we will place you on a waiting list for cancellations.

Private Afternoon Tea Events

For groups of 10 or more, we recommend a private afternoon tea. We open our historic mansion’s formal dining area for your group to enjoy a quiet gathering in elegant surroundings. Many Ladies Groups have already found Belle Grove and make it their annual tea each year.

We are offering a very special experience to our annual Holiday Season. We invite you to take a step back in time and enjoy our “Dickens of a Time” experience. Our staff will be dressed in Regency period as they serve you a cup of holiday cheer or guide you through our Holiday Mansion. Even Ebenezer Scrooge would have a merry time!

Holiday Mansion Tours

Not interested in tea, but would love to see our Holiday Mansion?
Holiday Mansion Tours on December 3rd to January 2nd Dailey 11am to 4pm
At 11am on Saturday, December 3rd to January 2nd, Belle Grove Plantation will be opening our doors for our very special Holiday Season.

Each year, we will close Belle Grove for one week starting the Monday after Thanksgiving. During this time, some amazing people come and decorate one room in keeping with our theme for the year. This year’s theme is “Christmas Songs”. Most of these people have spent the year before planning their holiday wonderlands. Each person that visits Belle Grove is invited to tour the mansion and vote for their favorite room. The top three rooms receive prizes.
Over the last seven years, it has become a tradition for many to visit Belle Grove for a tour through our Holiday Mansion to get into the Spirit of the Season. Some come to tour, some come to visit with Santa, some come to enjoy our Holiday Tea, and some come to do all three.

No Reservations are needed for the Holiday Mansion Tour (unless you are having tea as well). Come during the open hours to the front door and join our tours that are sure to put you into the holiday spirit.

Holiday Tea and Tour Cost

All ages – $55.00 per person. (Includes both tea and tour, does not include tax or gratuity)

Reservations are required. We are sorry, but we don’t accept walk-ins. We do love children, but we do not serve children under 5 years of age.

Tour Only Cost

Adults and Children (13 and older) – $15 per person
Children (5 to 12 years) – $10 per person
Children (4 years and under) – free

Cancellations

If you need to cancel, you may do so 30 days before your reservation. If you cancel less than 30 days for any reason, you will be required to pay a $100 cancellation fee.

Afternoon Tea, Dinner, and Breakfast Menu

When you select your date, please select the number of people in your party just above the calendar before you select your room. Some rooms may have more than one party in the room at the time of your tea. If you are unable to find a room for the date you are looking for, please call us directly. We may have rooms that are not listed available.

Holiday Mansion Tours Only

Holiday Mansion Tours Only does not require a reservation. Please come during our business hours in December which is 11am to 4pm. You may enter the mansion at the front door. You will be able to pay at the door for your tours. You must be at the mansion by no later than 3pm to get a tour for that day. Please do not bring food or drinks to the mansion. Pets are not allowed on the tour. Small children must be supervised during the tour. Our tours are guided tours only. There is no self guided tours. Please do not arrive before 11am.
