Rappahannock Powwow at Belle Grove Plantation
When Captain John Smith sailed down the Rappahannock River, he made note of the many Native American settlements that dotted the rivers edge. Since arriving at Belle Grove, we have found many Native American artifacts from the settlement that once stood here. Ancestors of the present-day Rappahannock Tribe that called this land their home.
We are excited to announce the Rappahannock Tribe’s 1st Powwow at Belle Grove Plantation. Join us as the Tribe teaches about their long and pride history.
